My Bey-gest Regret Retold (Audio Story)

For the retelling of my biggest regret, I incorporated sound effects. These effects include the sound of walking on pavement, birds chirping, and a record scratching. I also recorded a bit as the will call clerk and used an effect to make it sound similar to how I heard it.

To me, this was the better version because I didn't feel rushed. I also had more of an idea of what I was going to say so it felt more like a conversation than reading a prompt.

  1. Great job! You’re delivery is much better and I really like your added sound effects. I would suggest fading out the end of the walking sound effect, it ends a bit abruptly.

  2. Your tone and engagement are WONDERFUL! Your voice was peaceful to listen to because of your pace and connection, but it was compelling and enthusiastic too. Your story was amusing, relatable, and so humanizing. You sounded confident and the sounds effects you employed are sooo so appropriate and aid the whole thing in being all the more impactful. Wonderful job!!!

  4. Awesome job Brandon! I think this version really does the story justice. Effects are so on point! Especially that intercom effect you put on at the ticket booth - loved it. Houston summers are the worst so I think everybody that hears this story can relate..no judgement from me at least. If anything to improve, I thought the song clips at the very beginning are a bit too short and cut off way too soon. I understand you're only trying to capture a word or two but to me it's a little difficult to understand when it's that short. But overall, this is a great story you told, thanks for sharing with us!!

  5. This is Saba. I thought my name would get published with the post. But in case you're wondering, the above post ("Awesome Job Brandon...) was written by me.

  6. While I agree the sound effects enhance the story, I really liked how the actual audio sounded and how you added "you know" throughout. This made it seem like someone is telling me a story through a conversation.

  7. Excellent job on the re-telling, Brandon. You've sharpened the effects since your last blog and the transitions for sound additions are improved. I couldn't think of much to improve on aside from a slightly slower pace, but that might be just my own pacing preference. Great job!
